WEHPICHECK / BUY WITH A CLEARER PICTURE
Check the mileage story, not just the latest number.
A mileage check is most useful as a timeline. Compare dated observations, the units used and the evidence available between them. The aim is to identify questions about consistency, not to declare a vehicle clocked because of one unexplained number.

Place the available readings in order and note whether each is in miles or kilometres. Compare them with the seller’s advertised mileage and the odometer you see at the viewing. A historical figure can be internally consistent while still being very different from the current reading.
Investigate an apparent drop
A lower later reading may require enquiries about data entry, units, instrument replacement or another explanation. Ask for evidence rather than accepting an unsupported story. An error in an MOT record can have a formal correction process; a history report itself does not change the source record.
Additional mileage searches
MOT readings are one source of mileage evidence. Complete includes an additional mileage search where supported records are returned. Extra observations can add context, but their absence does not establish that all mileage is genuine or that a complete timeline exists.
Use mileage alongside condition
Wear, maintenance evidence and an inspection help you assess the car as a whole. A plausible progression is not a guarantee of condition, ownership or service history. Keep the dated report and your viewing notes together, particularly where an unusual interval or missing reading needs an explanation.
Your questions, answered.
Does a mileage discrepancy prove clocking?
No. It identifies an inconsistency that needs investigation; units, errors or documented replacements may be relevant.
Does Complete guarantee a full mileage timeline?
No. Additional records depend on what the available sources return for that vehicle.
