Information we process

We process account names, email addresses, password hashes and verification details; purchase email, order references, payment references and report-access tokens; vehicle registrations, mileage and the records returned for your requested report; and support correspondence. Essential session and security data support authentication, form protection and abuse prevention. Signed-in theory-practice results can include the paper version, scores and completion date. We do not receive or store your full card number or security code.

Why we use it

We use purchase and vehicle information to take steps at your request and fulfil the report contract, provide account access and send transactional emails. We use proportionate security and support information for legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service, and retain necessary financial or dispute records for legal obligations and the establishment or defence of claims. We do not sell purchase email addresses to dealers or use a report purchase as consent to marketing.

Service providers

Stripe processes payments. One Auto API and its underlying licensed data sources receive the vehicle registration and relevant mileage to perform the selected searches; supported service-history searches may use the matched VIN. The DVSA MOT history service supplies MOT records where configured. Our hosting and transactional email providers process data needed to operate the website and deliver your report. Private report access is restricted to the buyer, an authorised account and authorised operators for support. We may disclose relevant records where legally required or necessary to resolve payment disputes.

Providers may process information in other countries. Where the applicable data-protection law requires safeguards for a restricted transfer, those safeguards must apply. Contact us for information about the providers and transfer arrangements relevant to your purchase.

Retention and access

Guest report links expire after 180 days. Download your PDF or save the report to a verified account. Account and report records are retained while needed to supply account access, handle support, meet applicable financial-record obligations or resolve disputes and legal claims. Retention is assessed by those purposes rather than keeping all records indefinitely. Requests to close accounts, obtain information or delete eligible data are handled by our operator; some records may need to be retained despite account closure. Essential browser sessions have a configured lifetime of 120 minutes and may renew while you use the site.

Your choices and rights

Depending on the applicable law and circumstances, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal data, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact us using the address above. We may need to verify your identity without asking for unnecessary information. If you are unhappy with our response, you may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/ or your applicable supervisory authority.

Decisions and children's information

Vehicle records and calculated valuations are research information; they do not make a credit, insurance or ownership decision about you. Optional theory-practice scores are not proctored assessments. Do not put children's personal information into a vehicle lookup or purchase form. Parents or guardians can contact support about an account or practice record.
