Choose a detailer or mobile valet

Understand the service, access needs and finish expectations before booking.

Match the service to the goal

A maintenance wash, an interior valet, paint correction and a protective coating are different jobs. Describe the result you want and ask which preparation steps are included. A coating is not a substitute for repairing damaged paint, and a shine in a photograph does not show every defect.

Plan the visit

For mobile work, confirm where the vehicle can be worked on safely, what access the provider needs and whether water or power must be supplied. Ask how weather changes are handled. Confirm the time required and avoid agreeing a job that would block access or create a hazard.

Agree expectations

Ask about the provider’s relevant experience, insurance, inspection process and written scope. If paint correction is proposed, discuss the condition of the finish and the limits of the planned work. Agree the final price, cancellation arrangements and care instructions before the appointment.

Your checklist

  • Identify valet versus correction or coating
  • Confirm access, water and power
  • Discuss paint condition and limitations
  • Agree a written scope and price
  • Ask for aftercare instructions
